On to Bawlmer

After 28 years in our house, we’re going to Baltimore

(Bawlmer as they say!)

Leaving home to explore a new place and become a member of a new community is both exciting and tense. I have lived in my home for 28 years and am a life-long Alexandrian. I love this home and this community, but we have a new love.

A couple of months ago, we visited Fells Point; a community on the Patapsco River harbor in Baltimore. I had not been there in decades, so was captured anew by its charm.

After spending a weekend there with good friends, dining at Cindy Wolf’s Charleston and Water for Chocolate in Butchers Hill, we fell in love with this little community. Long story short, we bought a condo facing the water, are putting our home on the market, and are on our way to becoming Baltimoreans.

I am so looking forward to discovering the culinary scene in Baltimore and will share it all with you - markets to restaurants to recipes. So, stay tuned.

In the meantime, we are parsing out our belongs and leaving many things behind. We’re have a Moving Sale this coming Saturday and hope you can drop by. On offer will be antiques, collectibles, quality cookware and cookbooks, garden tools, furniture, pottery and more.
